Some of the club members think they have what it takes to become the next Dani Pedrosa, so with the help of the southern area organiser, Megawatt, their bluff was called. The trackday was a later afternoon / early evening feature, and for once someone up above took pity on us poor mortals and it stayed fine, which given the summer of 2008 is a small miracle in itself. Not only did we have the trackdayers themselves, but such is the friendly nature of this club we had a number of other club members turn up to give vocal support (and occasional jibes) at our antics. The riders were all subjected to a riders briefing first in a swelteringly hot room full of folks in sweaty motorcycle leathers - nice! Once released from that torture we had a 'sighting lap' session following an instructor to learn the lines, and then 3 x 20 minute 'free for all' sessions on the track. The CBRF members enjoyed themselves and it was another great event organised by the club. Special thanks to Megawatt who organised everything down to the last detail to make sure it was another great CBRF event. Here are just a few of the best photo's of the day, with 'on-board' video footage to follow from several of the bikes. Bigger pictures will eventually be behind the thumbnails. Megawatt, Karel, and Wolf queue behind a slower rider on the sighting lap. Marshalls getting in the way of the pack Super fast blade, but unfortunately not a CBRF member (yet..) RB900 on Beck's CBR600RR putting the hammer down (no change there then!) Johne lining up for Surtees corner thebladeissharpe on his blade-based trackbike Karel lining up an RRY for a pass Megawatt on his blade streetfighter Superquick Chevygirl trying a sneaky underpass Wolf going slowly uphill looking for anything resembling a racing line! Johne right on the apex cone Nibbler(?) getting a cheek off the seat in true MotoGP racing fashion... Very quick Repsol blade soon to be a CBRF member Errr, here's your bike back Becks, but minus a bit of tyre rubber! Other non-CBRF riders on the circuit Johne pouncing on a helpless wolf into Graham Hill bend (For more rideout stuff - click here)
