Oh its been a long wet winter, and although we have been out on our bikes individually or occasionally in two's and three's it was time to get the EAH reformed for 2009 and put in some serious miles. As the EAH slogan says 'nowhere is too far'!

So, after an initial forum post by rb900r the EAH area co-ordinator, a group of us decided to blow away the cobwebs and get our wheels turned over in anger and to proudly display the new EAH 'European Tour' tee shirts. What better way of increasing our carbon footprints? The route rb900r had chosen saw us meeting at Lings Honda in Harleston for pre-run cuppa, and then out onto the roads. Taking in some fantastic, and largely traffic-free, country roads in this spectacular neck of the woods we put in a 100+ -mile run with ease, before the obligatory photo opportunity and then back to Lings for another cuppa.

In shot are (from left): hermy, 'the old git', exorcist, becks, rb900r,and davecbr. Not in shot were johne and wolf (taking the picture).

Cracking day with loads of really fast sections, fast sweeping bends, tight country lanes, a humpback bridge with a wicked sharp turn after it, a few small villages, an unscheduled u-turn when we took the wrong road, oh and being an rb900r rideout - the obligatory 'through town' wrist aching bit (sorry Rich!). The group was able to maintain a really good pace throughout, and being just eight of us we rarely got spread out enough so that rb900r (leading) couldn't make out the last rider, so no need for stops and we simply carried on until the fuel ran out!

We all agreed it was a great day and to top it all as the photo shows the early cloud and mist dispersed and the sun came out. The day saw some old friends reunited and some new friends joining the growing ranks of the famous EAH (but we missed you ellie!).

A great way to start the EAH 2009 rideout season. Next one is BSB at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday. Contact rb900r through the forum if you are interested.
